The Basics

There are three steps involved in the skin care process: 1) Cleansing, 2) Exfoliation and 3) Moisturizing. Nubian Heritage has developed complete lines of products to address these fundamental skin care issues. We have also developed products that go beyond the basics to treat specific skin conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis and hyper pigmentation.

1) Cleansing

The first step in any skin care regime is cleansing. Many cleansers marketed to people of Africa descent have high chemical contents that strip the skin of vital moisture. This action leads to excessive dryness, eczema and other skin irritations.

However, proper Cleansing is important as it removes surface debris and impurities from the skin. Nubian Heritage cleansers are formulated to nourish while cleansing skin. We have developed effective facial and body cleansers formulated with natural ingredients that soothe and heal skin irritations.

2) Exfoliation

Nubian skin is quick to show dead tissue buildup. While dead tissue buildup is part of the skin normal process of regeneration, it is more apparent on darker skin tones. The result of dead tissue build up is ashy skin. Creams and oils are of little help in overcoming this condition because the dead tissue is not removed first.

Nubian Heritage is introducing several excellent Facial and Body Scrubs to remove dead skin and surface flakiness to reveal healthy skin and improve blood circulation at the skin’s surface. Exfoliated skin is then ready to receive moisture. Scrubs can be used daily or several times a week according to the skin care needs of the individual. Facial masks and liquid toners are ultra-exfoliators which deep cleanse and tone skin.

3) Moisturizing

Nubian skin has more layers of skin tissue yet has relatively less water barrier properties. Nubian skin needs more moisture than other skin types. Modern skin abuses – pollutants, overheated home and offices and continuous exposure to air conditioning – extract humidity from the air and, in turn, skin. Even normal evaporation saps skin of intrinsic moisture. Nubian Heritage moisturizers deliver moisture to the skin and create a physical barrier that promotes moisture retention and prevents loss. Our natural ingredients absorb quickly into the skin to nourish, heal and protect.

African Black Soap for Special Needs

Nubian Heritage has created the African Black Soap line specifically for oily and acne prone skin. The products can be used in conjunction with other Nubian Heritage lines to achieve and maintain healthy, clear skin.

Troubled skin is often inflamed but due to our pigmentation, difficult to see. Nubian Heritage products contain essential oils and natural ingredients such as Black Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera and Honey, to calm skin inflammation.

100% Shea Butter

With regular use, SHEAMOISTURE 100% Shea Butter evens skin tone and returns skin to its natural luster. Melting at body temperature, it absorbs quickly and completely into skin without leaving greasy residue. As it penetrates deep into the skin to re-hydrate and promote cell growth, SHEAMOISTURE retains moisture in skin lipids to improve elasticity and combat wrinkles and stretch marks. It is excellent for moisturizing & protecting the scalp, especially on processed and heat-treated hair. Unlike petrolatum based products, it will not clog pores and block hair shaft, allowing for easy breathing and stimulating growth.
